Earth Designs Garden Design Blog seeks to advise and inspire great garden design. In the ‘Garden of the Month’ we examine a garden project in detail and the ‘Garden Design Diary’ is a weekly journal of what has been happening in the Garden Studio of our busy London Garden Design Company. Our ‘Top Tips’ articles will leave you brimming with ideas for your outdoor space while the ‘FREE Garden Design Clinic’ offers you the opportunity to submit details of your garden for a free on-line garden design consultation. And check out ‘The Garden Shed’ to find out what ideas and accessories we are storing away to use in our garden designs at a later date. Finally, a fairly new feature called ‘The Ideas Garden’ shows how you can take inspiration for garden design from just about anywhere – a painting, a building, even an old bed!
Hi Kat,
It’s finally time to start thinking about the garden and where better to start than here! I love the website, it’s full of wonderful designs and ideas, some of the gardens you have designed are amazing and fill me with enthusiasm but I have no idea where to start.
So much to think about, cost being one of the main things, but what is the first thing I should be looking at? I just wish we had a small garden/large patio to contend with and not such a big area as I really have no idea how to go about developing an overall plan. Having been here you know the enormity of the site, not just the size but the mountains and huge vistas so any ideas you might have would be sooooo much appreciated.
Do hope you and Matt are both well, often here about you through Emma so fingers crossed that this year is going to be a great one for you.
kind regards
Jenny
Hi Jen – Hope you and Stuart are well up on that mountain side – and getting ready to tread those grapes in the summer for an ample stash of wine.
So to the Teague estate, there are a number of ways you could tackle it, employ a garden designer locally, if there are any – they may come and give you some ideas for free. You could make use of our postal design service which requires you measuring the plot and answering our questionnaire, so we get a good idea of what you want (prices for this start from £195). Or grab some advice from me via the Garden Design Clinic on the blog and do it yourself. Send me some photos and I will do a scribble..
I know you are quite creative and Stuart is handy with a hammer, so i reckon between you and with a dash of time and patience you can create a slice of paradise in those mountains of yours.
Let me know if any of these ideas tickle your fancy and we will take it from there
K
