Garden Design - Beckton, London E6

A diverse garden offering a sense of excitement and intrigue
Design utilises classic materials laid out in a contemporary manner
Two seating areas - these are joined with a winding pathway, which takes you on a journey through the space
Design incorporates a 'room in the garden', which offers the client a number of benefits. The structure lends an instant impact and sense of completeness to the space. The metal latticework provides the perfect frame on which to train trailing and climbing plants, adding a rustic charm and a sense of privacy. This sense of enclosure could be further increased with the addition of optional occasional awnings. The interior of the structure is large enough to comfortably accommodate a table and four chairs
A planting palette of blues, purples and reds, in a mixture of traditional and architectural plants, will add a slightly exotic feel without compromising on year round interest within the space
A stepping stone path edged with bark chippings will give the space a woodland feel
The paved circle would have a principle use as a second dining area, but would also offer the opportunity to include pots and object d'art within the space
A native copper beech tree will give a striking aspect to the space and will not present any problems on a practical level
A still pond will present the final flourish. Visible from both seating areas, it will provide an air of tranquillity and harmony. The pond will not be fitted with a pump or filter, and as such will be very low maintenance.
Suitable fish could be added at the clients request
The fences will be painted a shade of aubergine to remain consistent with colours used in the planting palette
