The area outside the back door will be decked to the client's specifications, with the existing wall rendered and painted a soft sandstone colour.
The steps up to the main area of the garden will be clad in decking, with the side walls rendered and painted sandstone. The steps will lead the user to a decked pathway stretching diagonally across the lawn to the an area containing a jacuzzi in the top left hand corner of the space.
The main area of the garden will be bordered on 3 sides by flush beds housing a planting scheme of plum leafed foliage with orange and yellow flowering perennials against a backdrop of evergreen shrubs. Low level planting will allow the user to view the garden from the lower deck level, where 2 Cordyline australis will be positioned to tower above the space like palm trees.
The area under the willow tree will be fenced off with a low picket-style fence and will be laid with play bark to create a safe and soft area in which children can play. A large double swing will be hung from a bough of the willow tree, and additional activity areas can be added by the client at a later date. A decked veranda will be build to the front of the shed area, to create a hard surface on which pots and ornamentation could be placed by the client.
The back left hand corner of the garden will form an adult relaxation area, with a spa gazebo sat atop re-enforced decking. This will be screened with trellis to create a clear definition between the children's area and the adult's area.
The gazebo area will also see a house a decked space to the front large enough to accommodate a cane sofa and chairs (not supplied), bordered by flowers and foliage yet still visible from the house. With the addition of the aforementioned planting and screening, we will strive to make this area as intimate and welcoming as possible.
Lighting in the garden will feature 8 white eyelid down lighters situated on the long wall directly outside the back door, giving it a warm and welcoming aspect. 8 LED decking lights will be set into the decking pathway that stretches across the garden, providing drama and excitement on the journey towards the spa area. Low voltage spots will feature throughout the planting to illuminate and accentuate the plants.
