Garden Design - New Eltham, London SE9

An urban courtyard - combining cottage planting with pots and hardy evergreens for year round interest
Cobbles to replace the paved area, from which a cobble path will extended down the garden to a second cobbled area - creating two separate seating areas
Planting palette will be in a selection of colours that are typical of cottage planting
A selection of pots, both glazed and terracotta, will help to create colour in the space throughout the winter months. The use of pots will also allow for the planting of annuals without creating gaps in the bedded area
Willow screen across the gap in the privet on the right of the garden will give complete privacy and also introduce another texture to the space
Trellis screening across the width of the garden, with an archway in the middle, will divide the space into 2 areas, lend some height to the space, and provide a sense of mystery to the garden when viewed from the house.
Planting across the bottom end of the garden will mask the end of the plot and serve to create an illusion of space
The existing shed will be removed to increase the available space and allow for more planting
Willow obelisks within the beds will lend elegance, form and height to the space, and will help to enhance the 'cottage' feel of the space
