Garden Design - Stamford Hill, London N16
The design features paving with attractive 'Tuscan Clay' style tiles to create an urban courtyard area along a Mediterranean theme.

The garden will be split into three sections. The middle section will be paved, with the two other sections (one directly outside the back door, the other to the rear of the garden) laid with pea shingle to create a hard utility ideally suited to the display of potted plants.
The paved and gravelled areas will be bordered on both sides with raised beds constructed from railway sleepers. These beds will help to give the garden an enclosed feel, and have the added advantage of retaining more moisture in the soil, thus reducing the need for frequent watering.
A water feature will be nestled in the raised bed halfway down the right hand side of the garden. This feature will comprise a pool constructed with railway sleepers, from which will tower a railway sleeper standing on end. Near the top of this sleeper will be a spout, from which water will cascade, first into a dish below, then back to the pool at the bottom.
Large flower pots placed amongst the foliage in the beds will help to accentuate the Mediterranean theme at play throughout the design, and will add an extra layer of height and texture to the space.
