The design creates an area split into two main sections, both of which would be perfectly suited to dining, entertaining and relaxing. The underlying idea is to create a garden which acts as a continuation of the kitchen space, serving to be both practical and welcoming whilst being attractive when viewed from the level above.

The Versatile Garden

Maximum use has been made of this small urban garden. Attractive red cear decking intersects with a large sandstone circle patio to create an interesting juxtoposition of materials. The main foca point of the space is a curved wall constructed from vertical red cedar boards, to which a bespoke red cedar bench is attached.

The Party Garden

This design transforms the garden from an urban wasteland into a sub-tropical party oasis. The space is split into two distinct areas. At once elegant and stylish, playful and accommodating, the space is equally suited to intimate dining or large-scale entertaining. The colour palette is aubergine, lime and sand.

The Sunset Garden

This design utilises a circular motif to tie this split level garden together.
The lowere level features Indian sandstone paving and L-shaped railway sleeper raised beds, while the upper level consist mostly of a circular lawn with a sandstone patio in the corner.

This site was an open and awkward shaped corner plot in an end of terrace house. The design created a fairly low maintenance garden with raised beds and a multi-textured floor.

This long urban garden was a blank canvas. The design created a stylish space with clean lines to match the airy designer feel to the interior of the house. A sunken pond with bespoke slate rockery waterfall makes an eyecatching focal point.

The plot was a small garden in a basement townhouse flat, Access to this garden was a major issue, as the only entrance was via the narrow basement flat with a steep set of stairs to traverse. The finished space comprised Travertine paving around a flush decked patio.

The design uses a simple circular theme, creating several focal areas to make the most of the limited space.The main area of the garden features three paved circles, with a tight planting scheme designed to blur the boundaries of the space.

This design extends the existing sunken area of this sub-urban garden to create a split level space. The flooring throughout is in Yellow Balau hardwood.
A bespoke timber screen, comprising horizontal dark-stained timber slats, obscures a ramshackle garage wall at the end of the garden.

The Mosaic Garden

Taking inspiration from Anton Gaudi's Parc Guell in Barcelona, this garden features curved and undulating raised beds that flow organically around the space. The boundary walls and raised beds are heavily mosaiced, with a multi textured decorative flooring and architectural planting scheme adding to the intense visual stimuli to create a unusual urban oasis.

This large sub-urban garden was improved without extensive changes to its existing layout. A series of tall archways, created from chunky new landscaping poles, create an imposing focus to the space, leading the user to a bespoke office building at the bottom of the garden.

The Japanese Garden

Taking loose inspiration from modern Japanese gardens, this design utilises a series of circles and spirals to impart a strong sense of fluid unity to the space. Set around a circular lawn the space features a series of pebble mosaic paved circles and a low undulating wall.

The Small Chic Garden

This small L-shaped garden features a granite patio laid in a diagonal ‘wave’ pattern alongside an ellipse of yellow balau decking. A raised brick planter adds some height to the space.

The main aim of the design was to avoid detracting from the stunning views of Tower Bridge a short distance away.
Garden Design in the isle of dogs The Private Roof Garden A problem faced by this urban roof garden was a lack of privacy. The design seeks to use timber screening and planting to provide a sense of privacy without completely enclosing the space.  Artificial lawn and rubber flooring serve to enliven the dull concrete flooring, while a variety of pots and planters bring style and colour to the terrace.
Garden Design in Chingford The Aquatic Garden The clients of this design wanted plenty of flowering plants and fruit canes. They were particularly keen on including water in the garden to encourage animal and insect visitors, so we created a stylish but functional wildlife pond from railway sleepers and liner. Due to a reasonably low budget for the size of garden, the majority of the flooring is gravel or lawn.

It uses sections of decking divided by bespoke stainless steel planters and decking benches, to create smaller semi-private areas to allow a number of residents to enjoy the space simultaneously. Perspex features heavily throughout, to create a vibrant, contemporary atmosphere.
Garden Design in Hackney Wick All year round garden design Hackney Wick East London The Updated Garden The clients wanted a low maintenance design for the garden of this typical long urban terraced town house. They may be moving abroad for a few years, so were looking for a garden which is attractive and suitable for a family but which will stand up to a little neglect should they subsequently rent the property to  tenants who do not keep on top of things. The solution was a large patio and artificial lawn with low maintenance planting.
