Diary of Essex and London Garden Design

It’s been another busy week in the Essex and London Garden Design studio:

A local family who wanted a plan for their small space in East London were delighted with Katrina’s design and have given to go ahead for the build to start ASAP.

Katrina is also nearly ready to present the large family garden design in Loughton. The design model has been drawn, planting and lighting plan compiled and images produced. Matt is now working on the budget.

Katrina won a new design this week for a beautiful house in Walthamstow  village. Set over 3 floors it’s new tenants are slowly working through refurbishing it and called in Earth Designs to look at one corner of the space. The client is hoping to open a cookery school soon and loves entertaining so Katrina has suggested a large paved area demarcated with planters full of herbs.

A client we quoted for several months ago has come back to us to ask if we might be able to undertake the works in her Walthamstow garden. Matt is looking into dates and will respond.

Katrina went on two consultations this week. The first was for a garden in Kensal Rise where the couple are planning major refurbishment works to the house. They are looking to create a family space that serves as an extension of the interior and is considerably low maintenance.

The second was in Maida Vale where the clients were also undertaking building works to re-organise their interior space. They were keen to make the most of their small exterior courtyard and wanted some ideas as to how to maximise it in terms of seating and planting. Katrina designed curves and raised beds into an elegant solution, with a dramatic water feature taking central stage.

Matt has begun works in Leytonstone, with clearance and preparation for the foundations for raised bed walls the first tasks on the s.  The Matt also returned to one of our previous gardens to fix some lights.
