Essex Garden Designer Diary

Katrina has been busy continue work on the family garden design in Brentwood. The front garden is almost finished and ready for budgeting, she still needs to do the planting plan and specify the paving for the back garden.

Garden Photographer, Marcus Harper, has returned to one of our East London garden designs which we completed last year. The client wanted a garden inspired by Frida Kahlo with bright zingy colours, which included an area for her to carry out her home brewing hobby. Marcus took comprehensive shots of the garden and interviewed the client in preparation for a magazine article sometime in the near future.

The small garden build in West Hampstead is nearing completion. All the paving and the stainless are rill water feature has been installed, including the decorative detailing on the back wall. The pergola and artificial lawn are also in place. The finishing touches – pointing/grouting, planting and installation of the lights – will be completed as soon as the weather improves in the next few days.

Clearance continues at our large landscaping site in Thorpe Bay. We are now at a point where materials can be delivered and the foundations for the feature walls and timber arches and screens will be dug ready for installation. The clients were looking for an Essex Garden Designer and build company and they are delighted with the progress so far.

Our site in Leigh on Sea is complete apart from some fibreglass planters which we are awaiting delivery. They should be here next week.

Katrina went to present the garden design to an east London client last week. Their brief was for a low maintenance family garden. The re-design of the split-level space replaces the existing decking terrace and steps, incorporating the mature magnolia tree. It also features a large patio and lawn, with a children’s play area and decorative features. The client’s first reactions to the design package and quote were favourable and we’ll wait to hear whether we have won the build.

We have been contacted by a client from Wansted, East London who wants a postal design package. The client will undertake their own site survey and Katrina will produce a simple scale drawing and planting plan in the next few weeks.

Katrina went for a consultation with a client looking for an Essex garden designer. They were looking for some design ideas to maximise the use of their family garden. Katrina came up with a concept sketch which included a pergola and an area for a trampoline which will be screened off using Perspex panels and stainless steel mesh. The client was delighted and cannot wait to implement the ideas.
