Garden Design Ideas: Garden Screen Idols…

I’m in love. Totally and utterly in love with Garden Screen. Designed by Stefano Pirovano for  BYSTEEL,  “Ra” is a new collection of backlit covering panels for indoor and outdoor use.

I’m a big fan of steel in a garden, especially corten steel. The distressed quality of rust and its post-industrial harshness against planting is such a dramatic mix. Couple that with the intricate patterning of the cut-outs in the Ra panel and eye-catching backlighting and I get very excited.

Garden Screen of any kind in a garden can be useful. It can hide ugly areas, break the garden up into smaller sections, add height, and in particular help with privacy which in small gardens, especially urban gardens, can be a real issue. These utterly beautiful panels would be a fantastic addition to any garden, whatever the reason for including them (even if it is just because!) However, I haven’t asked the price, but I am suspecting it is not for the faint hearted!
