Seeds of Design: Art nouveau garden design

garden design

Art Nouveau was an international style of art, architecture and applied art, especially of the decorative arts, that was widespread in Europe and the US between about 1890 and 1910. It was inspired by natural forms and structures, particularly those of lines of plants and flowers. This Art Nouveau garden design is based on the wonderful artisan glasses I saw at the Denmark Design Museum.

Seeds of inspiration

Typical of the style, they remind me of a series of wildflowers, the swirling metalwork mimicking the natural lines of plants to create these elegant forms.
